Healthy Starbucks Guide

The good thing about there being a Starbucks on practically any corner is that its easy to get consistent nutrition whether you’re stopping by after work, stuck in the airport waiting for your flight or hitting Starbucks on your summer road trip.  Though there are some huge sugar bombs on the menu, there’s also plenty of great, wholesome options.  Here are our top healthy Starbucks picks, no matter what you’re craving.

Classic Whole Grain Oatmeal

Oatmeal is one of the healthiest breakfast options, and Starbucks’ version is full of fiber and protein for a filling option on-the-go.


Caffe Misto

If you’re looking for a warm drink, the caffe misto is a great option.  Because it’s made with brewed coffee rather than espresso, there’s less steamed milk, which reduces the overall calories – a grande made with 2% milk clocks in at only 110 calories.  Add a dash of cinnamon if you’d like a little extra flavor.


Spinach, Feta, and Cage Free Egg White Wrap

This vegetarian wrap is made with cage-free egg whites, spinach, feta and tomatoes, all rolled up a whole wheat wrap and toasted.  Though it’s intended for breakfast, this high-protein option works well any time of day.


PB&J on Wheat Bistro Box

This fun twist on a childhood classic is high in both protein and fiber!  The box contains a PB&J on wheat, veggies with Greek yogurt ranch dip, apple slices, mozzarella string cheese and chocolate covered raisins for a well-balanced meal.


Cold Brew Coffee

Cold brew coffee is a great choice because it’s smoother, meaning that you get a ton of flavor out of the coffee beans.  Drink it plain, or add your choice of milk.


Caramel Espresso Granita

If you’re craving an icy, sweet drink, check out the Caramel Espresso Granita on Starbucks’ Sunset Menu (served after 3pm). Espresso, cream and caramel drizzle are poured over shaved ice, for an option that is lower in calories and sugar than a Frappuccino.

Hearty Veggie and Brown Rice Salad Bowl

This hearty salad is a mix of fiber-rich brown rice and veggies like broccoli, roasted butternut squash, beets, kale, cabbage and peas, all tossed in a lemon tahini dressing.  The 430 calorie serving contains 10g of protein and 8g of fiber.



One of our favorite healthy store-bought snacks, Starbucks has two exclusive flavors of KIND: Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Nut and Almond Coconut Cashew Chai.  Both are a great option to grab for a snack that contains protein, fiber and healthy fats, while also being low in sugar.


 Evolution Fresh Sweet Greens Smoothie

For a post-workout meal, the Evolution Fresh Sweet Greens Smoothie is an option that is full of whole foods.  It’s made with nonfat Greek yogurt, mango, banana and green veggie juices.

If you want a treat, the Iced Vanilla Latte isn’t a bad option – a grande made with 2% milk is under 200 calories.  Ask for it half sweet to cut back on the sugar, but still get that flavor.


Rhythm Superfoods Kale Chips

Kale chips are an awesome alternative to potato chips, and Starbucks offers Rhythm Superfoods Kale Chips in tasty flavors like Kool Ranch and Zesty Nacho.  They’ve also got sunflower and sesame seeds to add crunch as well as healthy fats, protein and fiber.


Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

For dessert, pick up Justin’s organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.  Made with organic peanuts, dark chocolate and cane sugar, they’re a much cleaner option than the alternative.



Available in Cool Lime, Strawberry Acai and Very Berry Hibiscus, Refreshers are low calorie and low in sugar compared to the rest of the menu.  They’re made with fruit juice and fresh fruit, plus have green coffee extract so they still give you a bit of a boost.


Krave Jerky

This all-natural, high protein jerky is a great option to give you energy when you’re on-the-go.


Naturally Bare Toasted Coconut Chips

Made with only coconut, cane sugar and sea salt, these toasted coconut chips are a great source of fiber and healthy fats.


Protein Bistro Box

This bistro box boasts 13 grams of protein and contains a hard boiled cage-free egg, apples, grapes, white cheddar cheese, multigrain muesli bread and honeyed peanut butter.
