When the countdown is on, getting everything together for your big day can be stressful enough – without worrying about your own health! We’ve put together five actionable tips to help you feel glowing and confident on your walk down the aisle.
Get Hydrated
Upping your hydration is a great way to reduce bloating, energize you and improve your skin. We suggest keeping a water bottle handy so you’re able to sip away during the day. You can also hydrate with coconut water, flavored sparkling water or herbal tea. And don’t limit hydration to drinking, either! Incorporating more fruits and veggies with high water content like cucumbers into your diet is great, too.
Practice Portion Control
While making healthier choices is awesome, it can be stressful – especially when combined with wedding planning. This is why it is so essential to practice portion control throughout the day. Eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day will help keep your energy up and prevent overeating and crazy cravings. If you’re super busy, try setting aside some time on the weekend to plan out your meals so you’re organized for the week. Be sure to include some healthy snacks as well!
Up the Antioxidants
In addition to being great for your overall health, antioxidant-rich foods are amazing for your skin, hair and nails. They’re also found in healthy, whole foods, which helps to clean up your overall diet. Dark, leafy greens like spinach and kale, sweet potato and bright berries like raspberries and blueberries are all ones to reach for.
Swap Out Salt and Sugar
Switching to more whole foods and cutting out excess sodium, refined sugar and artificial sweeteners will help reduce bloating. Instead, try using herbs to season your food and switch to natural sweeteners like maple syrup, honey or stevia.
Pick Healthy Fats
If you’re considering going low-fat to slim down, think again! Healthy fats help you to feel fuller longer to prevent overeating, provide your body with necessary nutrients and also help to improve your hair and skin health. Avocado, olive oil and nuts are all great options to add to your meals.
